The Haunted requires the latest UT3 Patch
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU CREATE A SEPERATE INGAME PROFILE FOR THE HAUNTED.
OTHERWISE IT WILL OVERRIDE YOUR UT3 SETTINGS AND KEYBINDINGS.
DELETE THE OLD HAUNTEDGAME FOLDER BEFORE INSTALLING
Automatic Installation
=================================================================
Extract TheHauntedV3Full.rar and run StartSetup.exe .
Follow the instructions to install The Haunted 3.0.
Start the haunted with one of the newly created shortcuts.
If this doesn't work for some reason or if you want to install it for a non-windows server,
continue with the manual installation.
Manual Installation
=================================================================
Extract the files
----------------------------
You have two directories for UT3.
A Main directory and a My Games directory
The Main directory is where you have your Unreal Tournament 3 installed.
The My Games directory is where all the mods go.
Delete the HauntedGame folder from Documents\MyGames\Unreal Tournament 3\
Open the .rar file and extract the GameFiles\HauntedGame folder into Documents\MyGames\Unreal Tournament 3\
And ONLY there. So you have a UTGame folder and HauntedGame folder in there.
Now you need to create a shortcut if you have never installed The Haunted before.
Otherwise you can just use the one from v2.0
UT3 Retail Version Shortuct
----------------------------
Locate the UT3.exe in your UT3 installation directory.
For example:
C:\games\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe
For Steam it is something like this:
C:\Steam\Steamapps\Common\UnrealTournament3\Binaries\UT3.exe
Right click on the UT3.exe file and create a shortcut.
Rename it to The Haunted or whatever you like
Right click the shortcut and click properties.
Append this line to the target box:
-mod=..\HauntedGame -solomod
It should look something like this:
C:\games\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe -mod=..\HauntedGame -solomod
Click apply and you're ready to launch the game.
UT3 Steam Version Shortuct
-----------------------------
Start Steam
Under the My Games tab in Steam, right click on Unreal Tournament 3 and choose the "Create desktop shortcut" option.
Go to your desktop and rename the shortcut to The Haunted or whatever you like
Right click the shortcut and click properties.
Append this line to the target box:
-mod=..\HauntedGame -solomod
It should look something like this:
C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 13210 -mod=..\HauntedGame -solomod
Click apply and you're ready to launch the game.
Editor Shortuct
-----------------------------
To start the editor, you always have to refer to Ut3 exe, even with steam.
The line to start the editor has to look osmething like this:
C:\games\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe editor -mod=..\HauntedGame

All haunted specific controls are customizeable in the menu.

Hint Messages
--------------
To disable the ingame hint messages go to [HauntedGame.TH_PlayerController] in UtHauntedGame.ini
and set bDisableHints=true
Server info and commandlines
=================================================================
The haunted works with webadmin. You may have to start the server twice when switching gamemodes, we are working on this issue.
You can also start a dedicated or listenserver from the menu.
Here are basic commandlines for the different gammodes.
Coop
-------
ut3 server TH-Canyon?game=HauntedGame.TH_Game_coop?IsDedicated=true -mod=..\HauntedGame -login=YourLogin -password=YourPass
Battle
-------
ut3 server TH-Canyon?game=HauntedGame.TH_Game_tdm?IsDedicated=true -mod=..\HauntedGame -login=YourLogin -password=YourPass
Demonizer
---------
ut3 server TH-Canyon?game=HauntedGame.TH_Game_conversion?IsDedicated=true -mod=..\HauntedGame -login=YourLogin -password=YourPass
Mapnames
---------
TH-Canyon
TH-Stronghold
TH-Temple
TH-Excavation
Everything else like maplists and mapvoting works like in ut3.
You can also use mutators like in ut3.
Please be aware that the haunted does not officially support any mutators except for the ones you find in the menu.

Troubleshooting

Controls
------------
If you cannot change your controls, run the game without the -solomod parameter
Editor
------------
If the editor does not automatically load haunted content, go to HauntedGame\config , open the
UtEngine.ini and go to [Core.System]. Then add SeekFreePCPaths=..\HauntedGame\published to the bottom.
Language
------------
If you don't see text messages in the game, set the language in the [Engine.Engine] block of the UTEngine.ini to INT
Crashes
-----------
If the game crashes, go to our IRC channel and report this immideately.
You can copy a crash log from general protection fault crashes by opening a textfile and pressing ctrl+v right after the crash.
Also, save the Launch.log file from UTGame/logs.
